How can we help you - what can we offer?

  • Activities, workshops and training for carers
  • Bereavement information  if the person you care for has died
  • Information and advice to individual carers by e-mail, telephone or in person — eg about practical help in the home, taking a break, carer support groups, claiming benefits etc

  • The opportunity to express your views and influence local services
  • Support and information for people who are considering residential care for the person they care for, or who already have a relative in residential care, through our Relatives Project.  This part of our service can also provide information if you are looking for residential short term breaks (respite)
  • Someone to talk to
  • Access to funding for carers, including Short Break Funding and Princess Royal Trust for Carers individual grants for carers
  • Free access to the huge number of books and reports in our library, on caring and caring related matters.  These are available to borrow free of charge for up to 4 weeks, by carers and workers alike
  • A specialist Carers Support Worker for carers of adults who have learning difficulties.  Please see here for more information.
  • Support workers for carers of working age people who have a functional mental healthy difficulty, such as anxiety, schizophrenia, depression, bi-polar disorder
